About the Artist

I'm Kimberly Sheahan, and I've spent my life paying attention to light.

I'm the one who stops. Who notices the sky turning over the water, a city catching fire for ninety seconds, the last gold of a day before it's gone — and reaches for the camera before the moment closes. These are caught, not made. Every frame is real, every one a place I actually stood, the light exactly as it arrived.

Some of these moments lasted seconds. I've learned to live ready for them — to look up, to carry the camera, to trust that the light will give you something if you're paying attention. This collection is a lifetime of that attention. The moments I looked up and the sky was already there.
